Profile

Grant’s finance foundations

Grant’s professional journey began on the fast-paced floors of the stockbroking industry in 1997 where he became an Institutional Sales Trader. After 18 years supporting wholesale clients with stability through an often unpredictable and whirlwind market, Grant felt himself drawn to a career where he could make a more personal and meaningful impact. He transitioned into financial planning through the esteemed AMP Horizons program and never looked back.

After relocating to the coastal lifestyle of the Sapphire Coast, Grant joined Lifestyle Financial Advisers which merged with Edge Advisory Partners and more recently Coastline Advice. He quickly became part of the local community, notably through coaching club and representative basketball teams. Grant values the strong sense of community within his team and in relieving the often overwhelming challenges of wealth management for those he regards as neighbours and friends.

Grant’s approach

Grant takes great pride in transforming his clients’ financial concerns and uncertainties into a renewed sense of clarity, purpose, and optimism after each meeting. He is dedicated to creating a comfortable environment for his clients, fostering an implicit sense of trust, and demystifying financial planning by transforming it from something perceived as complex or obscure into clear, tailored strategies with well-defined outcomes.

Grant strives to educate his clients using simple, memorable language—so clear they could easily explain it to a neighbour or loved one. Each success story serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of timely advice, often leaving clients thinking, ‘we should have done this years ago.’ Knowing that he has helped clients leave in a stronger position than when they arrived is what motivates him each day.

What people say about Grant

While Grant’s height might be the first thing people notice, it’s his professional presence, attentive and empathetic listening, and dry sense of humour that leave a lasting impression.

Grant’s interests

Grant and his wife Mia are proud parents to two energetic boys, Xavier and Perry who are both talented basketball players (no doubt inheriting their father’s height). Much of their spare time is spent travelling to games, training sessions, and tournaments. For Grant and Mia, courtside is their happy place. They love watching their sons grow under the guidance of great coaches, a parallel likeness of how Grant helps his clients reach their financial goals.

Grant’s background includes a degree in Economics and Japanese and 18 months living in Japan, where his fluency in the language—and a fleeting dream of becoming a game show host—added a unique chapter to his journey.
