Profile

Financial foundations
John’s career in finance began at NAB, where he spent six years developing a strong foundation in banking and customer service. In 2009, he transitioned into mortgage broking, joining a family-owned brokerage in Geelong. Over the years, he has built deep expertise across all areas of lending — from first home buyers and investors to clients with complex financial needs and self-employed business owners.

After spending a year in Melbourne working with varied income and complex-lending clients, John returned to Geelong to continue building on his experience and mentoring other brokers. In March 2025, he joined the Coastline Advice team, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for helping clients achieve their property and financial goals.

John’s approach
John’s approach begins with understanding — taking the time to learn about each client’s history, current situation, and future goals in close collaboration with the financial planning team. He believes this process is essential to designing lending solutions that minimise costs and support long-term wealth creation.

He ensures his clients feel informed and empowered throughout the entire lending process, clearly explaining their options and helping them make confident, well-informed decisions. For John, true success lies not just in securing the right loan, but in helping clients feel comfortable, educated, and in control of their financial future.

What people say about John
Clients describe John as empathetic, thorough, and genuinely committed to understanding their individual circumstances. John’s friendly nature and experience make the lending process feel simple, transparent, and stress-free.

John’s interests
At home in Ocean Grove, John enjoys a full and lively family life with his wife and three children. Their household is also shared with two beloved rescue Groodles, Bernie and Barry, and three cats — Tiger, Muffin, and Luna. John has a deep love for the ocean, animals, and nature in general. He can often be found hiking, bushwalking, or enjoying Victoria’s coastal beauty with his family and pets by his side.

Did you know?
John volunteers with the Marine Search and Rescue agency. As part of the Queenscliff Coast Guard under Marine Rescue Victoria, he operates a 12-metre rescue vessel, helping those in trouble across Port Phillip Bay, Bass Strait, and the notorious “Rip,” the treacherous entrance to the bay. His commitment to helping others, both in his professional life and on the water, reflects his genuine care for people and his strong sense of responsibility to his community.
